Masterclass in Fingerstyle with Don Alder

May 04, 2016

Sometimes called Vancouver’s best-kept secret, Don Alder’s name is still one to be conjured with for all fans of acoustic guitar.

With seven albums under his belt to date, all of it original music written by Don, it’s easy for anyone to find out for themselves why he’s considered one of the top acoustic fingerstyle guitarists in the world,

He’s been recognised as International Fingerstyle Champion (in 2008), Guitar Superstar (in 2010), was the winner of the World Wide Guitar Idol contest the following year and has also held the coveted Domenic Troiano Guitar Award in the multi-genre category.

This is a man whose music transcends boundaries and whose playing delights anyone who hears it – and stuns guitarists, as they have the foundation to understand how impressive what he does really is.

Considering all of these accolades, it’s no wonder that we’re very proud when we announce that Don will be coming to Sounds Great Music as part of his UK Clinic Tour to host a masterclass in fingerstyle playing.

After you’d absorbed some tips and tricks from the master, you can follow him over to the Kenilworth Pub in Cheadle to hear a live acoustic set and see exactly how it’s done.

This is a not-to-be-missed event for anyone who loves and respects the art of guitar music.

Come along on the 11th May and find out why Don Alder is one of the top flight of musicians endorsed by major names like Yamaha Guitars, Seymour Duncan Pickups, Ernie Ball Strings and Santo Angelo Cables.

The masterclass commences at 7pm. If you want to know more – or just to reserve your seat - pick up the phone and call us on 0161 436 4799. There are only a limited number of seats and we expect high demand!
