When guitarists think of Ibanez guitars, they usually picture high octane rock machines, built for shred and performance playing. In fact, before Ibanez, a small company called Hoshino distributed a classical guitar called the Ibanez. Hoshino bought the name and through the 60s and 70s Ibanez offered inexpensive versions of popular guitars from other manufacturers. In the 80s, instrumental rock music was on the rise and Ibanez collaborated with stars such as Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert and created the JEM, RG and S series of guitars. It's not all rock though, Ibanez also offer a great range of Jazz guitars with signature models from George Benson and Pat Metheny. Today, Ibanez guitars are still hugely popular with a model to suit any player.
