Advancing instrument design and construction is always a top priority, and part of this quest is seeking out new tonewoods that will allow Eastman to build the best sounding, looking and playing guitars possible. In honor of this tireless tradition, several of their acoustics now feature Solid Cedar tops, including the E2D.
So how exactly does this news translate tone-wise? Where spruce-topped acoustics are loud, bright and crisp, cedar is darker and harmonically richer, with a more intimate, multihued, overtone-heavy sensibility that fingerpickers will love. Elegant new rosettes complement the cedar’s roots in classical-guitar construction, adding romantic flair and finesse to these handcrafted yet affordable steel-string instruments.
